Where: Richmond, VA
Field Day of the Past is an annual family event sponsored by the Rockville-Centerville Steam & Gas Historical Association.
The event is organized and manned by volunteers and we always welcome a new face! The show mixes the warm, down home atmosphere of the county fairs of yesteryear with exhibits and displays of museum quality. Historical displays, exhibits, re-enactments, tractor and truck pulls, small engine displays, arts and crafts, flea market, antique and modern construction equipment demos, a log cabin with ongoing heritage craft demonstrations. Live demonstrations, a working US Post Office, a 1930's grocery store and garage, fire lookout tower, blacksmith shop, wood wright shop, ice house, gold mining equipment, Pullman railroad car and engine buildings, and you never know what's been added to Field Day of the Past.
The show is a 3 day event which draws a crowd of approximately 30,000 people annually. Most activities are scheduled more than once a day and many ongoing. Bring your camera, don't be shy ask as many questions as you'd like! There are 50 acres to see and plenty of food and fun!
